Refoundry is an innovative new not-for-profit that trains formerly incarcerated people to repurpose discarded materials into home furnishings and incubates participants into their own businesses.
Refoundry is dedicated to reducing our nation’s prison population of 2.2 million and the 75% recidivism rate by establishing a cost-efficient and scalable model that can empower those most affected by our broken criminal justice system to transform their lives and their communities.
Our model is built upon co-founder Cisco Pinedo’s success in incubating former employees into seven businesses that now provide jobs to more than 150 people from the impoverished South Central Los Angeles community.
