Alfonso's

Alfonso's Pastry Shoppe has been an esteemed bakery on Staten Island since 1970. Before Alfonso could even think about opening his own business, he knew his skills needed to be perfected. As a young man, Alfonso worked with regional chefs while living in Italy. After coming to America, his first job was baking at the Plaza Hotel and later became the pastry chef for The Hampshire House. Once his skills were refined, Alfonso decided to open his own pastry shop on Staten Island. The first Alfonso's Pastry Shoppe opened in 1970 , and was located on Manor Road. In 1978 the business moved to Victory Blvd, where it still successfully exists today.
